Woodland Property Update - Vicki
The smaller parcel was willed to a woman who did not end up selling the land before she passed away
Larger parcel has heirs, but we may be able to do the circulars and that would be enough.
The city is trying to move forward with Sheriff Sale so we are trying to get ahead of their completion of this.
If they send it to Sheriff’s Sale, then the city may not be able to priority bid on the land
They are arguing now on who will do the sheriff’s sale.
Once we possess the title to the property, we will owe the all the back taxes during the time that we own the property.
Good news: we take possession of the property and have a few months of no taxes.
Gary - Once the property is transferred, you immediately appeal the assessment.
Vicki – David Holler doing the pro-bono legal work.
Looking to have the Garden Trust to take over the property.
Goal is to get on the current grant cycle instead of waiting for the next cycle
